Meaningless Babble #1

I guess I have to blame my latest blogging absence on a certain new… writing activity of mine. I’ve progressed from my crazy return to writing fan fiction to something else. I’m not going to name it because I feel incredibly nerdy for even being a part of it, but I adore it and regret nothing.

And… I actually have a tumblr account now. I don’t post on it hardly ever. Which is sort of like how I am with this blog, haha. Okay, but I have been good with posting on here at least, and I doubt I ever will be on tumblr. It’s so different and… I don’t know if I even really consider it to be much of a blogging platform. The focus there isn’t on the words, or at least not on the meaning of them. It’s good for funny things of not much substance. I’m way too fond of WordPress to ever give it up.

I’ve Been Writing on the Railroad

I haven’t blogged much lately, but I have been writing, I promise! It’s this writing that has been consuming all my creativity and words, and leaves me feeling uninterested in blogging, and out of time.

You see, in the spring of 2008 I got into fan fiction. This is not going to be a lengthy tale of nerdiness like my story about the sims that took me two blog posts to get out. Anyways, fan fiction. Specifically Harry Potter fan fiction, because I’m cool like that.

I published my first story in May of 2008. The website I use tells you when things uploaded. I’m not that nerdy that I actually remember specific dates like that. I kept it up until March of 2009 and then I got busy/had writer’s block/technical difficulties and took a break. Until about halfway through last month. I spent my winter break writing a ridiculous amount of fan fic. And I’m still writing it. I’ve got 6 stories going simultaneously at the moment (because I’m insane) although I’ve been focusing on 2 of them for now.

If you’re nerdy like me, and at all curious:

HPFF

This account takes longer to add to, since stories have to be validated, but I have more stuff on here. This is where I got started.

FanFiction.net

This account is new, I only made it about a week ago. It doesn’t have as much as my HPFF account yet, but I will be adding to it more quickly since it doesn’t require validation. I have the first chapter of 4 of the 6 stories I’m currently working on up.

Take Back the Blog: Like a Bieber

Four days in a row! I haven’t been this good about blogging since the beginning of December when I was still on my NaBloPo roll. Today is writing day!

On… Sunday? I think it was Sunday. Sunday or Monday night. It doesn’t really matter. Anyways, one night recently I started working on a script. Not for Script Frenzy. I don’t think I have the time or the patience for that right now, although back in November I was already planned, psyched, and ready for it. The script is more for fun, and at my own leisurely pace and convenience for now. No, I think it must have been Sunday that I started that because on Monday I was working on song lyrics.

The other day, I came up with the idea with one of my friends that we were going to make a YouTube production company and become stars. We came up with a list of ideas for videos (obviously, you know, not while we were supposed to be doing work…) Anyways, I came up with lyrics for a couple of spoof songs on Monday, and had way too much fun doing that.

Opinions Needed

Alright folks.

So, I came up with the rough idea for my Script Frenzy script a while ago. And then today I came up with a new idea that I really want to see through. Should I:

a) Start writing this new idea that for some reason I want to call Herbert (1 more day! losing miiiiind) over the break. When Script Frenzy comes along I’ll still write my original idea.

b) Maybe start writing original idea over break. Maybe save it for later. But certainly save Herbert for Script Frenzy.

I really want to write Herbert now, while I’ve got the juices flowing. I don’t want to wait until April. But I’m also a little reluctant to use up this awesome idea already. Okay, maybe it’s not that awesome, but I’m passionate about it at least.
